The Art of Flintknapping
A term used for the making of flaked or chipped stone tools by hand.
It is accomplished by various techniques and tools. This technology was used
in prehistoric times to make spear points, dart points, arrow heads, knives,
scrapers, blades, and many other tools. People who make those tools today are
called Flint Knappers. Modern pieces make unique
gifts and are collected as artwork and for various other reasons, throughout
the world.
What can You find on the site?
You can find galleries of art work made by Myself. Items include custom crafted
stone knives, finely knapped intricate points, tools, books and miscellaneous other unique
items that when added with the knives and points all make special unique
gifts for you, loved one or a friend.
What do You get with your purchase?
When you make a purchase and obtain a piece of my artwork for yourself or a
special friend, not only do get the artwork, you get a "one of a
kind" signed and dated piece of art (if you request) which comes with a certificate of
authenticity.(request it also)
You also get a satisfaction of knowing that I am not a commercial knapper, I put my best effort in each piece and do not
try to mass produce art for money only!
I actually try to knapp all my pieces on my land in
Utah
, which
land is also an ancient native people lands, dating back to at least 6000 years ago, which in my mind ads a special
meaning to the piece I make there.
